We finally escaped from the house and the animals, and are now residing back in Brighton,
it was fun looking after the house and the cats and dog and chickens, but phew was it tiring. The cats kept trying to sleep on the bed, (all three of them) and they woke us up early every morning, running around and jumping on us.
Last night was Relly’s beginners scrapbooking class, and it was so much fun! Relly did some covert printing from our Flickr accounts so we would all have photos to use, and she supplied some wonderful paper and embellishments. She also showed us how to turn a cardboard letter into something much better and shinier by enameling it, and we even got a chance to use embossing powder and stamps
Aral was the only guy in the scrapbooking class, but apart from wanting to burn everything he really enjoyed it and his layout is really lovely. Everyone did really well with their scrapbooking and it was great how every layout was so different even though we all started with the same elements. We were going to do mini books as well, but we spent so long on our first piece, we ran out of time! Relly cut out the pieces for the mini book pages so we could take them home; we’ve got mini book homework
I can’t wait to get started on mine, and I’m already looking forward to the next class.
I am getting so excited about Christmas! It’s just under two months now, which isn’t that long at all. I’m hoping to make all my presents this year, for several reasons: 1. Giving a gift that you have made yourself is such a great feeling. 2. I really enjoy making things. 3. Making my presents suits my current finacial situation very well! I am also hoping to design my own wrapping paper and cards, with the Christmas fair coming up as well I think I’ve set myself a pretty big challenge.
I am thinking of using moo cards as tags for my softies and scarves after seeing a post on CraftBoom this morning. There are so many possibilities with moo cards, they are so versatile! And they have a great tool for making text cards as well
There certainly is a lot going on at the moment, these last few months have flown by, and there is the distinct feeling that life is a runaway train, and I’m left on the platform. But I am hopeful that after this last conference (Flash on the Beach) things will settle down a bit. In the last two months Aral has been on ten flights and to five conferences, and I for one am glad that the next isn’t till 2008!

I agree about the making the Christmas presents. I really do believe it helps us financially but also gives a chance to be more thoughtful than going to a box store and getting into debt.
